Our Services
Project Marigold provide primary school children with the emotional support they need to thrive and achieve.
Our whole school approach to mental health provides direct support to children through the provision of creative therapies, as well as specialist support and guidance to school staff and families.
We provide:
1. Creative Therapy for Children
Creative Therapy for Children

Project Marigold delivers creative play and drama therapy for children aged 4–11 in primary schools across Ryedale, Scarborough and Whitby, and the surrounding areas.
Our sessions are led by highly qualified and experienced therapists who provide a safe and supportive space for children to explore their feelings through imagination, storytelling and play. This creative approach helps children express themselves, make sense of difficult experiences, and build confidence in who they are.
We work with children who may be experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement, family changes or challenges with friendships and behaviour, or who have experienced childhood traumas. Through creative therapy, we help children build emotional resilience, improve self-esteem and develop healthier ways to relate to others. By supporting their wellbeing in school, we aim to give every child the chance to feel understood, valued and ready to learn.
At Project Marigold, we recognise that supporting children with complex emotional needs can be both deeply rewarding and emotionally demanding for school staff. To help maintain wellbeing and effectiveness in these vital roles, we offer tailored support through clinical supervision and group reflective practice.
Our 1:1 clinical supervision sessions are delivered by a qualified and experienced clinical supervisor. These sessions provide a confidential space for staff who work most closely with children experiencing emotional or mental health challenges. Through regular supervision, staff can reflect on their work, explore the emotional impact of their role, and develop strategies to support both their pupils and their own wellbeing.
We also offer group reflective practice sessions, facilitated by a qualified clinical supervisor and therapist. These sessions bring staff together to think collaboratively about individual children, share experiences, and consider how best to support them in school. The focus is on reflection, mutual learning and developing practical, compassionate approaches that strengthen relationships and improve outcomes for children.
By supporting the wellbeing and professional growth of school staff, Project Marigold helps create a more resilient, reflective and emotionally attuned school community — one where both children and adults can thrive.
Therapeutic Support for School Staff

Support and Guidance for Parents and Carers

At Project Marigold, we understand that caring for a child who faces emotional or mental health challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming and isolating. Parents and carers play a crucial role in supporting children’s wellbeing, yet they often need space, understanding and practical tools to help them feel confident in that role.
From Autumn 2026, Project Marigold will begin offering dedicated support and guidance for parents and carers. This service will be designed to help families better understand their child’s emotional world, recognise the impact of stress and dysregulation, and find positive, practical ways to support their child’s growth and resilience.
Our support will include opportunities to reflect, learn and share experiences with others who understand. By strengthening the emotional wellbeing of families, we aim to create a consistent circle of support around each child, both at home and in school.
